Somehow I managed to miss that ヴァン ダイン was ヴァン from the island and spent a while trying to figure out who S.S. Van Dine was and why his name would be important/interesting/funny enough to end a chapter with. I had to start reading next week’s chapter in order to put everything together :laughing:

Yeah not much to say for this week’s reading part. Was easy enough to follow and quite enjoyable. Pretty hardcore how much the book bashed the older cop brother for being fat.
We also now have the real names of all the people on the island. Not sure yet if the news paper articles were just a nice way to bring fresh wind into the story structure or if they have a more important meaning.

Edit: Wait… After reading @Escalus comment again the news paper article said 六名… WTF​:unamused_face:. I just thought he was also 元 (since the names are reassigned) but the book only said that for 江南. Now me confused, didn’t he get the call and seemed surprised at the beginning of the chapter…
