I think that maybe, if I could change some radicals to my own, it would be really nice.
Sometimes, we look at a radical and can’t see any similarities with what you recommend.
In my opinion, it would work to select the radical and maybe have a button called “Edit Card” something like that.
This would also work for kanji.
English is not my first language, and sometimes it’s hard for me to understand what you’re trying to say in the kanji descriptions.
But if I could change them to something in my language, that would be great.
Hi, and welcome to the community.
You already can. Click on the “User Synonym” button and it will let you include your own translation. It’s also available for Kanji and Vocabulary.
As for radicals, go ahead, but be aware that the mnemonics for especially the more complex kanjis are reliant on you knowing the standard radical. You’re making it more difficult for yourself in the long run if you change that meaning. I would recommend burning that meaning into your brain, to make future items more easy for you.
As for kanji meanings, definitely don’t put another meaning that you like more, that’s literally the meaning of that kanji. However, what I can recommend to you, is putting in your native word instead. If it is difficult to understand the English version of a word, simply put in the word you do understand, and use that as the translation. But don’t start calling apples bananas, or you’re just teaching yourself the wrong thing.
