I highly doubt I’ll reach level 30 by the end of the year, but I’ll give it my best try anyway.

Let’s do this!!!

I reseted from lv21 back on the New Year day 2023-01-01. Now lv10, time to climb back up again! This time the goal is more humble, instead of being fast as fuck boissss, I’m gonna aim for a modest lv 30 by New Year 2024. But right now the speed is around 8-9 days per level, expecting it to drop once I get passed all the easy kanji and vocab I already know.

Joining the 2023 race now after a Wanikani hiatus for a few months (been lvl 22 for 156 days now). Better late than never to get some motivation to level again. Almost through the initial review wall of over 1400 items, and prepared for a week or so of pushing forward the guru/apprentice pile-up before getting into lessons again. While level 60 in 2023 may still technically be possible for me, I’m aiming for consistency over speed to avoid burn-out and better long-term gain. Excited to come back to this board once I’m back on track and hit level 23!

Hellooooo ~~

I’ve just joined the race, I once was on another race thread, the race for the cake it was called, now it’s so ancient… so hey, why not do it again. I am currently level 10, so expect me to be around for a long time

Hoping to make friends along the way

25 now and I´m slowly realizing that the structure of a workday helps me immensly with WaniKani, it´s so easy to forget my reviews on holidays. On a normal work day I know the times when I need to do my reviews and everytime I have some time at work to spare I can do a few extra sessions.
I can keep up without problems on weekends, but one week off and it´s somehow so much harder to remember.

After almost a year of semi-accidental, semi-necessary hiatus (Time on Level: 362 days, 14 hours, 59 minutes ) I am back on WK and back learning Japanese! Woohoo! So I would like to re-enter the race, come on 2023 let’s do dis!

In the face of 1000+ reviews I was super tempted to reset (again), but decided to wade through them and just carry on from where I am. I’ve tackled 200 in 2 days, so things are going good so far! And lots of them were burns, yay

Wishing you all the best of luck in the JP race :racing_car: :checkered_flag: looking forward to seeing you all make heaps of progress this year! がんばってね!

The later level 30s (37,38) feel so effing slow. So many new items and burns from level 20s piling up on top of that. Feels almost insurmountable. This will be my 2nd consecutive day of 200+ reviews after quite a while

One fast level and about 35 kanji lessons later…

I don’t really know what I expected honestly, but I guess that’s just the fast levels.
