Hmm, I wonder how difficult it’d be to compile a list of exceptions? (Thinking of 悪人 and 軍人 for instance.)
it sounds like that would be similar to all the exceptions to the ‘rule’ i before e except after c 
i think i’ll just have to learn them all…
