Have you read the FAQ?

> **[Why Do I Need to Wait for Reviews?](https://knowledge.wanikani.com/getting-started/waiting-for-reviews/)**
>
> You’ve finished your first lessons. Now what?

> **[Unlocking Kanji Lessons](https://knowledge.wanikani.com/getting-started/unlocking-kanji/)**
>
> By reviewing your radicals and proving you really do know them (despite how much time has gone by between Reviews), kanji will begin to unlock and show up in your Lessons. More information can be found about leveling up on our How Do I Level Up?...

See the onboarding series of articles linked on the bottom for more information. If you have any question after that feel free to ping here again.

Hi @Mangojam - like @downtimes said, you’ll need to do more reviews in order to unlock new lessons. Levels 1 and 2 are fast tracked to speed things up a bit, but otherwise this is the core concept behind our SRS and leveling system.

We have[a guide here for new users](https://knowledge.wanikani.com/getting-started/how-wanikani-works/) that should answer most questions, but we’re always happy to help!

What I like to do sometimes is to click on the kanji and vocab for the level and kind of read ahead even if I haven’t been “assigned” the readings yet. And then… I’d just do a few extra readings when allowed if I still remember any.
