Will you consider adding an ignore button to this? I think it was mentioned previously a few pages back, but I don’t think there was any update to that?
Edit; Nevermind, I saw the experimental apk a bit later lol. Will give this a try.
Thanks for this! Its helped a procrastinator like me work a little harder!
Just a couple suggestions:
- I’d love to see a graph for level completion time (something similar to this )
- The ability to scroll while in landscape would be nice
- Occasionally, lessons break (input fails, even with integrated keyboard) and the app needs to be manually closed and opened again
- Issue with deleting IME’d text persists (every time you want to delete kana, you need to tap the text box)
venetiansnares said... Just a couple suggestions:I agree, adding new stats is the next improvement I'm working on. There's even an open issue:
- I'd love to see a graph for level completion time (something similar to this )
https://github.com/WaniKani/Android-Notification/issues/3
At the moment I'm concentrating on the JLPT/Joyo part (the graphs are slightly simpler :), but the level graph will come soon after that.
Probably I'll distribute alpha APKs, to receive early feedback..
On which activity? on my phone I can scroll everywhere, regardless of the orientation.
- The ability to scroll while in landscape would be nice
And some problems:Alas, the integrated browser is a unlimited source of bugs, most of which are simply unfixable. I'm looking forward to seeing the new lessons module, that will make lessons and reviews more similar to each other, so I can use the new IME on lessons too.
- Occasionally, lessons break (input fails, even with integrated keyboard) and the app needs to be manually closed and opened again
This last issue is completely fixed on the experimental builds (the last of which is the next release candidate), because it completely bypasses the JS IME.(Keep in mind that the above pertains to the latest release and not any of the experimental builds.)
- Issue with deleting IME'd text persists (every time you want to delete kana, you need to tap the text box)

Hey, I just tried downloading the experimental APK with the ignore button and it refuses to install on my phone (and yes, I made sure I have the “allow apps from outside sources” box checked). Running 4.2, unrooted.

Since other web pages scroll all right in the integrated browser, it looks like I have to tweak the HTML once again ;)
s84606 said...That one doesn't seem to work either. This is the first time I've tried installing any of them since the problems the previous ones were fixing didn't really affect me.yasmatazz said... I see two other options: you can either sideload it, or simply wait for the end of next week when I'll upload it into production (unless I discover something really nasty :)
s84606 said...Well, this APKs are exactly the files I upload to google play. What's the error message? It simply says "app not installed" when I try to install it from the downloads screen. I did some googling and it seems some people have had this problem when trying to install an unsigned apk from somewhere outside of google play, though I dunno if this is the problem here or not.

I'm fine waiting until you put it into production if that's just how it is, but I was hoping I could try it out before then so I can stop screwing up my stats~
(nvm)
s84606 said...Full ebook-style would be even better, but I'd settle for just being able to hide the "Wanikani Notifier" black stripe across the top of the screen. My phone screen is tiny so when I switch to landscape view, the keyboard takes up most of the bottom half of the screen and the title bar takes up a decent chunk of the top. I can't actually see the kanji without scrolling :)johnnystarfish said... Two feature requests--I see... do you mean removing the title and the notification bars, like e.g. an ebook reader? I'll implement it as an optional feature on a release after the next (which is frozen)
I'd appreciate the ability to hide the title bar to get some more screen space. Landscape view is more ergonomic for me but I can't see as much as I'd like to at once.
Thanks!

I not, you must uninstall the previous version before you can install the new one.
By the way: Thanks for the nice app, I really like it :)

I can understand: now that I've got it, I review in a much more relaxed way. Maybe sideloading solves the probem?

I not, you must uninstall the previous version before you can install the new one.I’m almost sure that would solve the problem. However that would delete all data, and you would lose the SRS Distribution history.
By the way: Thanks for the nice app, I really like itGlad you like it

Besides, did you have a chance to try the experimental builds? Maybe the custom IME fixes the odd problem you reported…
EDIT: Just uploaded the last APK, which is now the release candidate. I’m positive I’ve signed the right way

I've checked with my phone and a 4.3 emulator and in landscape mode it scrolls fine. What's your android version and screen size?
Does it happen even when using the native keyboard?

Thank you so much for the latest update! the completion estimates are awesome!
Just installed the new RC and it works great. Thanks for the app!
Consider adding the option to automatically move to next item when the answer is correct.

Firstly, thanks to you all for the positive feedback, now I know I can release this build more lightheartedly
Satoshi said…Consider adding the option to automatically move to next item when the answer is correct. Like this: /t/WaniKani-Improve-222-—-faster-and-smarter-reviews/2858/1Had a look to the script: I believe the “next item” part can be easily imported: I’ll give it a try. The qtip part is more tricky because it depends on an external library and I’d prefer not to embed it. I think the more consistent way to implement that functionality is through a native view instead of an HTML popup: probably I’ll add it at a later time.
