Where does the xenophobic sentiment come into play though?
Dunno if I’d call it “xenophobic”, but there’s always the general idea that pervades the Japanese consciousness that Japanese people are somehow special.
Though bringing that up is risking sending this thread on a tangent.
Oh right, I thought they were implying that learning Japanese makes you xenophobic and I was like wtf

It displays the items you have only answered meaning or reading so you can quit without losing progress
I am utterly confused by the onyomi sound so I think it must be accurate
Yeah sometimes if I can’t rember the reading I just type in こう as a joke. Probably got the right anwser this way a few too many times than I should have.
Technically, if this is how you would approach it in an actual Japanese context, then you deserved those right answers.
