I’m using Chrome, and when I’m on the wanikani website there is a little icon in the address bar (on the far right) that looks like a computer monitor with a downward facing arrow. If I hover over that icon it says “Install Wanikani.” If I click it, I get a prompt that says “Install App” “wanikani.com.”
So, is there now an app for Wanikani, or is this something else?

PWA (Progressive Web App). You are still accessing/interacting with the same site online, just in an app like fashion and minus some of the browser overhead.
Thank you! I don’t know why I never noticed that in the last 9 years. Maybe a chrome update made it more prominent or just me. Doesn’t sound like something I need, but I sort of want to try it just to see what it is. The official explanation is so full of jargon that I don’t get it with reading that alone.
