I don’t often see this kanji in my reading. I’m still starting on my reading journey, but i typically see あります not a conjugated form of 有る.
Is it a kanji usually used in conjunction with other characters? Any insight appreciated.

But seriously, ある is usually written in kana. Probably when strictly the possession meaning, you might see 有る
Yeah, the word ある is typically written in hiragana. But yes, you will see 有 in a variety of common words, like 有名 or 共有.
