I have just released an update to the reviews “Last Items” section. It use to show you the meanings, readings and SRS status of your last 10 completed items as shown below.
This section has now been updated to show you the answers you gave during a review, and whether they were marked as right or wrong. This way when you are moving too fast through your reviews and you want to see what it was that you actually typed, you can now see this in the (now renamed) “Last Answers” section.
Items that you have completed will show the SRS status, while incomplete items will omit the SRS. When you open the “Last Answers” section it will now remain open until you close it or you open the “Item Info” or “Kana Chart” sections. You will only be able to see the Items you answered in the past hour so that you don’t get any hints for items that will show up again in your next review.
Oooh yes, wonderful update, thank you! I frequently find myself thinking I had something right and not realizing the result was red until I’ve moved on. I was hoping for something like this.
It wasn’t pleasant to see in such an explicit way that it took me 4 attempts to get the kanji reading right! However, humiliation aside, this is very nice update, thank you.
I’m planning to use it as an overview near/at the end of my review session. (The one hour limitation is something to keep in mind, though.)
Oh, one more thing. The following scenario happened to me and I believe it’s not the optimal behavior. See the reasoning below the scenario description.
At one point in my session I finally answered that pesky kanji (extinguish). It was stretched over longer period of time thanks to several (irrelevant) factors.The log was:
wrong meaning correct meaning wrong reading wrong reading wrong reading correct reading
However at the very end of my review session the first wrong answer (meaning) disappeared. It looked like this:
correct meaning wrong reading wrong reading wrong reading correct reading
Most probably the very first wrong answer (meaning) was entered over an hour ago. However I believe the deciding factor for showing/not showing the answers should be the time I fully finished answering the kanji, not the actual times I gave intermediate answers.
Hi there, as of this morning, both on Firefox on desktop and safari on mobile, I am no longer getting “guru” “apprentice” and the like when I complete a review, it doesn’t show anything when an item is completed. Assuming this is the only update that happened between last night and yesterday
However, humiliation aside, this is very nice update, thank you.
