I don’t think so. There’s no such thing like one training scheme for all people. What works for some, won’t work for others. It’s true in sports, it’s true in learning. I didn’t say WK is bad site, I only point out what I dislike. Long story short - I find WK useful, yet it’s not as revolutionary as the authors say. SRS and mnemonics are nothing new and kanji/vocab. learning order is at least disputable. To make my life easier, I use Tsurukame overlay/interface on WK system.

The WK scaffolding system can be both a help to some people and restrain others. Their way of building up the kanji / vocab is still fairly different even today, and WK came out what.. 2010 - 2014 area? When it came out there wasn’t the current language learning culture there is today and it really was more unique. Even now with thousands of places / apps to study Japanese, a lot have built on WK’s system (or the RTK system if you want to attribute it to that).
Also, even Japanese dictionaries don’t agree on what all the radicals are, so WK taking some liberties with them never bothered me.
There are a lot of cool words in here, but this site has got me reading Japanese text and getting high accuracy with the kanjis. It works and therefore it is good.
