I’ve just learned the word for pimp, 女衒.
The characters make sense, but the reading is ぜげん 
Does anybody know the origin of this word?
Or has anyone come across 女 read as ぜ in other words?

feel like i’ve seen this term ( 瞽女) used once before, Lone Wolf and Cub maybe? not sure offhand
はなれ瞽女おりん is a movie I recommend
