Two readings for 布地 which is more common?

I’m asking because I have an insta-mnemonic for きれじ, it a cleaning cloth that makes things pretty and ぬの has been ever so slightly problematic.

But I don’t want to cement the pretty one if it’s not really useful in practice. Hence the question.

Well, looking it up on Jisho seems to suggest that ぬのじ is the more used reading.

There are alternative kanji and ways to write cloth however. Like 切地 / 切れ地 きれじ or 裂地 きれじ 布地 きれじ
