Tips for helping to keep knowledge when taking a break?

I’ve been trying to use WaniKani as much as possible, but school started up recently for me and it has completely sapped my energy. As much as I’ve been loving learning Japanese, it’s difficult. I’ve been doing reviews, but anyone else got other tips to help me keep what I already know in my brain while I’m not doing much with Japanese? Or are reviews enough?

Whenever I need a mental break, I just continue my reviews without adding anything new (both Wanikani and the vocab+sentences I have in Anki). Works out really well. :v:t2:

Same for me. I both have work and school, add WK and iKnow to the mix and I almost have no time for leisure. So, on weekends, whatever happens, I don’t learn new Japanese vocab. It definitely lessens the mental strain while I keep my pace in all Japanese SRS stuff I do.

But since I do listen to Japanese songs all the time, (binge)watch anime on my leisure times, or do my part on book clubs here, I don’t think I’m really taking a break in Japanese since its my leisure as well
