A whole bunch of feedback Thanks for the support ^_^

I really enjoyed the weekly leader board on memrise, it would be fun to have something like that. Also I like on iknow.jp that it gives you badges for spending x amount of hours and also a running achievement for doing it everyday.
Leaderboards are definitely something I’m planning on (globally, within groups of friends, per level, etc). Badges are usually fun, I agree… though unfortunately I’m not sure how far I could get with that due to limitations of data that the API supplies. For instance, both your notes on x # of hours, and tracking use every day, neither of that is available in the API. I could infer if someone had activity that day based on if anything changed, but there’s the small possibility that a person could have activity, but no status changes are actually made on their items.
I’ll keep them in mind though All feedback / Ideas are welcome. For the first steps I’m going to keep it simple, and then expand later once I see how the reception of everything goes.
This sounds great, stuff like that always helps me with my motivation to do more reviews or lessons in Memrise, so something like that here would be great. Hopefully you will have something soon, and if you need help with testing or stuff that doesnt requires too much technical knowledge, I would be glad to help.

Actually, if you want to message me on skype (miwinger) I could use your help with some stuff.
Got the basic user system complete, as well as the code to grab all of the organized data from the wanikani API into the database in intervals.
Now I can start making features I’ll be able to include historical graphs of a whole bunch of stuff to show progression too now. Will post again as I get features completed. I got stuck on some of the data structures so it slowed me down.

I surprised WaniKani doesn't have something like this already. But something like this would be awesome
Same here... It seems like they've started to (or have been for a while now, I only joined recently) ignore WaniKani entirely. Sorry to sound so sour, but not even the bugs list topic seems to be getting much attention... I mean, the last time Viet updated that was a ~1 year ago :( They've been working on EtoEto lately though, so I guess I see where they're coming from. Though... no updates on that for a while >.<'
Anyone have ideas for what type of graph I should put together first? Something that gives some insight beyond the normal numbers. I’ve got a couple ideas (number of items perfect, vs amount struggled with within x number of days)… I’m not sure if that one has any real meaning behind it though.
I’d like to put together a few things to help visualize a persons progress first.

That sounds interesting, but there are already some third party apps with graphing to show level up times, JLPT Equivalencies, etc. I'm personally more interested in graphs that compare my progress to my friend's.
Perhaps a line chart that compares amount of time that we each take to complete each level? A graph comparing my top three worst items with how my partner does on those items? This could open up conversation with my partner about how they manage to remember that tricky word, or a chance to agree on how difficult it is to remember.

That feedback is awesome :) I didn't realize there were other third party things to do individual graphs, so I'll leave those alone and jump right in to setting up comparing with friends.
Adding my voice here! I feel like WaniKani is crying out for exactly this sort of thing. There’s so much potential for a social learning experience - you can see that just by how many people are trying to use this forum to keep track of each others’ progress etc.
I look forward to seeing this with great excitement!
Thanks for working on this, mordof. Sounds a like neat thing to use in the near future.
I would love to help somehow, but I’ve been quite busy with life these past few months. Sometimes I end up studying at 12am before heading to bed. If days were only a little bit longer!
