The New And Improved List Of API and Third Party Apps

Thanks for the answer. Okay, so I am going to be fine since the “old” vocabs are the first thing I do in my review. Afterwards I do the radicals and at least the kanji (Not putting any attention to the level or reading/meaning order). I am here to get my Japanese on a level I am able to use it. So I thought the Order I choose would benefit me the most ^-^

Also thanks to @seanblue

Is there a userscript that will make me type in the exact reading otherwise it will mark as incorrect.

上げる -> “To raise” (If you type “to rise” it is accepted)
下さい - > “Please give me” (If you type “Please help me” it is accepted)

I want it mark it incorrect. I tried searching but didn’t find anything.

You can use “Close But No Cigar”. It won’t mark you wrong, but it will ask you to try again. And at that point you can mess up on purpose if you want.

Or you can use “Double Check” which let’s you mark yourself right or wrong. It has “Close But No Cigar” included as a setting too.

Awesome, thanks @seanblue
I saw these but I wasn’t sure if there was a better one or not. I’ll try these out!

Adding to what seanblue said, Double Check has a setting for how to handle typos, with three settings:

“Answers containing typos:”

  • Ignore
  • Warn/shake
  • Mark wrong

Any chance we could get added to this list? I am building it based on KaniWani not really working well for me on reverse-cards, and as far as I can tell the review module performs better and more reliably than either KaniWani or even WaniKani itself.

Here’s the feedback thread:

It’s a wiki post, so you can add it yourself. The edit button is on the top-right of the top post.

Looks like Stylish just got removed from the Chrome and Firefox extension stores:

Stylus is a good (spyware free) alternative

Ah, good to know thanks. I’ve just been through the Tampermonkey security settings and locked things down a bit :grimacing: Think I’ll disable auto script updates too.

sigh I guess it’s finally time to switch

edit: well that was painless

Does anyone know of a script that you can input a vocab word and output the constituent radicals and kanji with mnemonics? Looking for something to let me memorize things above my current level when reading.

Pretty sure there is no script like that.

It would be really tough to do that until/unless WaniKani adds the mnemonics to the new API. With that said, writing a script to just give the constituent parts would be easy, but that probably doesn’t help you that much since you can do that with just a few clicks now.

@Kumirei @seanblue The removed useless panels were shown again after I installed self-study quiz scripts. Is it possible to still hide those panels while using self study quiz?

Edit 1: Strange! Idk what I did, but those useless panels were hidden again. Maybe because I reordered the scripts on my Tampermonkey dashboard? Never mind my question then. Sorry for the noise.

I had a quick look and couldn’t see anything in the other scripts which would interfere with removing the panels. Also installed the self-study script myself to check, and am not experiencing any issues. Maybe it was just a hick up in the loading of the scripts.

Do you know if and when Viet’s One Kanji a Day will be fixed?

I do not my friend.

Perhaps @viet can give you an update.

I’ll try to ask, thanks anyway though!

I’ll take a look sometime this week. I think an API the app is using broke or something.
