Personal Opinion
It’s a cute slice of life where I enjoyed the anime, so I’m kind of interested in reading the source material and seeing how it differs. It’s probably one of the CGDCT slice of life that changed my mind on the genre, and unlike Girls und Panzer, it didn’t even need to involve tanks (unless you believe the crack theories)
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Standard life setting, with some cafe terminology maybe, but judging by the anime the topics shouldn’t be too out there.
- 4koma is a format that hasn’t gotten too much love in other book clubs
Cons
- Lower level than the target level (but it has already been refused by the BBC as too difficult)
- The illustrations on the characters pages before the manga starts are… surprisingly fan-servicey, given what I remember of the anime
- There was a ad-hoc club back in 2018: ご注文はうさぎですか miscellaneous discussion

Personal Opinion
The manga’s setting makes for some unique stories. It has good comedy like many Manga Time Kirara series, but it also has some drama. I enjoyed the first volume and it continues to get better as the series progresses.

Pros
- Funny but has some good drama as well
- Not just another typical high school setting (yes, chapters take place in school, but it’s different since it’s 100 years ago; and there are non-school chapters as well)
- Learn about some Japanese cultural things from 100 years ago
Cons
- Occasional older vocab (but since the MC is confused too it’s not as bad)
- Even more rarely obsolete kana (but I found this kind of fun)

It was a great episodic anime. I bet the manga will be similar and even if people miss a week, they can skip to the current chapter.

- episodic series, so easy to jump in and out
- not centered around miscommunication drama
- oldie but a goodie
- completed series
- insight into more traditional Japanese lifestyles. I don’t remember if they ever say when it takes place, but most characters wear kimono and there’s not much Western influence

Doesn’t have to be very strict, I’m thinking if it would have been rejected by the BBC because too hard, then it’s good here! Nice that you have so many nominations under your sleeve! Maybe just a couple so there’s room for other people to nominate, I can see that it’s not an issue after all

A good historical manga with some drama, at the time of Hepburn. I quite enjoyed the series. Up to Vol.10 and not completed yet, but probably near the end.
