Personal Opinion

I’ve always enjoyed series about tiny people, such as the Borrows book series, the anime series 「森の陽気な小人たち ベルフィーとリルビット」, and even books and movies where mice are the main characters (Rescuers, Basil of Baker Street).

With that background, it’s no surprise that every time Kobo suggests 「ハクメイとミコチ」 to me, I wish I wasn’t already in the middle of 20+ other manga series. Especially because I know this one will require learning a lot more vocabulary just to work my way through.

Otherwise, I know nothing about the series, other than it involves little people, talking animals, and publishes in HARTA.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Slice-of-Life
  • Not yet-another-high-school-series.

Cons

  • The usual: no furigana.
