There still supposed to be Part 5 女神の化身? I have bought Part 1-3 (in LN version) a long while ago, and Part 4 is still expensive (though with discount). If I am near finish everything, I will consider the next discount.

Some of the older short story collections also seem to be on sale, but the only one I found was Royal Academy stories. The way Bookwalker arranges the 本好き books is kind of confusing, imo.
Edit: After minutes of painstaking research, I found out that Short Story Collections 1&2 are not included in the sale. Go figure, those were the ones I actually wanted.
Tentatively opened some of the 本好き manga pages and got quite confused. Let me get this straight: there are four different manga series by three different 漫画家, of which three are still continuing to this date?
I guess the series are somehow independent for this to make any sense? But then the main light novel series is just one linear series of 33 books…?
The main story of 本好きの下剋上 is divided into 5 parts, but it’s still one linear story. For the manga adaptation, they hired different artists to adapt them out of order, but as a newcomer to the franchise, you still have to read them in order, starting with Part 1 Vol 1 (or Part 3 Vol 1 if you’ve already watched the anime).
So they are adapting the series from three different points in parallel, and a new reader would only read the manga up to part 2 volume 11 for now. Got it, thanks.
I guess the later parts are aimed at light novel readers who already know what’s going to happen. Feels like the light novel series is the main event here.
Definitely. Part 3 is also accessible for people who have finished the 3 existing short seasons of the anime, but that doesn’t change the fact that the LNs are the main thing and as it stands, you definitely have to switch to reading the LN at some point if you want the full story.
I think the price is great and there hasn’t been a better sale in the year I’ve been watching the series. But have you already read parts of it in English or watched the anime so that you know it’s actually your cup of tea? Otherwise it’s a great commitment. I grabbed the English version of Parts 3 and 4 of the LNs at a half price sale on the global Bookwalker store last year, and while I ultimately stuck with it and didn’t regret it, there where also parts where the story went into a slump and I probably would have dropped it if I hadn’t bought them in advance.

I guess it’s not so well known today, but Area 88 was one of the first big manga properties to be brought over to America by Eclipse/Viz in the 1980s. It’s a fighter pilot drama with some stylish visuals. A three-part OVA series was created at the time, and more recently a short TV series.
Thanks for that! I got something free with coins, but when I checked out I noticed that it doesn’t seem possible to mix credit card with coin purchases anymore. You have to buy a coupon to mix with the coins, or use just coins or just credit card. But I don’t see anywhere to buy coupons. Is that just buying coins? That can’t be right - I just used like 3,000 coins to take a discount off a 鋼 set to bring it from 10,000y to like 7,000 and paid the balance with my card a day or two ago.

From memory, you are charged whatever the listed price is when it is in your cart and you click purchase (this may be actually less than what is in the shop for reasons I don’t yet fully comprehend). You will also see at that stage the amount of coins you will get back. Make sure it is the amount of coins you expect back because using a coupon may invalidate the coinback (I made this mistake on my first set purchase and it cost me around 4,000y).
The coins should be credited to your account about 10min after the purchase.
