The 0/0 Streak Challenge

I love that feeling!
Thanks for sharing, super inspiring! It will be bitter sweet to end WK, but as you say, more room for other things is nice! Good luck too, the journey continues!

Gah, so close! Finally got my Lessons down to 0 after two months of being back, and a month of regularly getting my Reviews to 0. But as soon as I do this batch of reviews, I’ll have more lessons to do… Not quite to 0/0 yet, but I can taste it!

Level 37! I’ve managed to do reviews everyday in Japan but I’m doing it a lot more leisurely than before. At least I’ve somehow managed to protect my roughly 200 day streak :sparkles:

Success! A new streak begins!

Starting level 6 (end of level 5 vocab pile + new level 6 content)

Victory fanfare*
This week was difficult. Seeing that lesson pile everyday, battling 10 or 20 new lessons a day, it looked like I would have to see it forever, but this morning I emerged victorious. :medal_sports:

Suggestion: write your level in your post, if it’s not visible on the screenshot :slightly_smiling_face:
As your badge will update as you level up, it’s nice to have the info in the post, if one day you want to look back

Very clever! I edited my post so I can remember all my sweat and tears, thanks

Level 5, 0/0

Because of how many kanji lined up just as I levelled up, I had 77 new lessons when I hit level 5 due to the new radicals, new kanji, and new vocab from just-completed kanji, so going to have some hectic initial reviews for a while this level.

I can really relate to this xD I have the same problem :stuck_out_tongue: And wow this level is gonna take a lot of time for me xD.

Level 5 for me was also tough, you can clearly see how the difficulty curve starts to spike quickly if you have been taking large lesson volumes in early levels.

Tip: try to divide your lessons in blocks during different days or at least morning/afternoon, they will come back in those same batches later to bite your behind on top of your new apprentice lessons!!!

Volume management is key in my opinion to avoid burn out, do your future self a favor and di-vi-de

Luckily I’m still at the stage where I’m getting “freebies” from my previous Anki or Genki study. e.g. 行, 音, 多, 来, 肉, 言, are basically freebies for meaning this level, and the kun’yomi readings when I get to the vocab section.

Okay now this is kinda getting insane. Started back on level 4 about 3 years ago and now I’m on level 51. I’m now in the reality of it all. So close, yet so far!

Phew, checking in with my 0/0 at level 3. That was a lot of vocab, and I’m sure it will get worse.
Cannot wait to be out of the number of things/days/people/etc patterns in the vocab. So many confusing exceptions. Keep thinking 五つ is いっつ instead of いつつ because of 六つ being むっつ, then think 六日 is むっか instead of むいか for some reason. Definitely have been hammering those in my head to get the wires untangled.
Edit: Also forgot that I anticipate to be on level 4 Sunday night/Monday morning, so I guess this is the last 0/0 before I’ll be cracking open the wallet, hahaha.
