The 0/0 Streak Challenge

• level up
• reorder to only learn radicals
• do batches of mixed vocab+kanji lessons
• get to 0/0 before leveling up

Looks like a very solid strategy to me. If I were to use the re-order script, I’d most likely just re-order the radicals to start guru-ing them right away, because they have been very easy compared to kanji and vocab so far. While doing that, I could clear the vocab of the previous level.

I have no idea if it’s always going to be so much vocab each level from now one, but if so, it would take me 3 or 4 days longer for every level up, just because the radicals get delayed so much. So I’ll probably check out that script if the next level is basically the same.

I hope user scripts also work on mobile phones; doing review and lesson in bed in the morning is very comfortable.

the re-order script has its pitfalls (frontloading kanji and thus neglecting vocab)

I like to force myself to re-order to actually make all my vocab come up first in reviews, that way I have to suffer through it before I can work on kanji. It sucks. A lot. But it gets my reviews done.

Same with leveling up. I always finish the previous level’s vocabulary before I allow myself to work on any radicals. Then I do kanji in small batches, and eventually power through vocabulary before the second half of the level pops up.

I really like your strat though! Sounds pretty solid.

Just a friendly reminder that 0/0 goal doesn’t mean “gotta go fast”, it just means “finish one level before you start another”.

Sometimes forums got stuck on a level
If you log off and in again it usually solves that issue

Yeah, I don’t think it’s even possible to literally finish a level before starting another (at least before the lessons go on the board, which wouldn’t be 0/0). But if you’re getting to 0/0 at some point (or several points) during the lesson, it means you aren’t skipping with the reorder script or falling (too far) behind in reviews. It doesn’t mean you have to do them immediately every time, though, and it doesn’t have anything to do with how fast you’re leveling up. Just that you’re keeping up with the work on average.

I’m only on level 2 and I got dozens of lessons piled up… I guess I need to try and do this challenge this weekend and get caught up and ready for level 3
