Sorry I’m a bit behind, had an absolutely exhausting week where most days after work I didn’t have enough remaining spoons to read much.
I took today off work to recover some spoons, I thought i was still too tired to make much progress but i set myself some goals was eventually able to make it through my stretch goals \o/

“if i wash and return them, isn’t it okay for me to borrow them? just a moment, i want to change my clothes”
返す to return
洗って返すto wash and return
からさ not sure what this is doing here, i’m interpreting this as something like “if”
くれる to do something for someone → ない
貸してくれない (you) won’t lend (the clothes to me) or (i) can’t borrow (the clothes from you) お not sure what this is doing here, i’ve only seen お as a prefix or in volitional forms at the end.
ちょっと lit: little, here meaning something like “sorry” or “it’s a little awkward” or “just a little while”
着替えたいwant to change my clothes
“eh? you’re changing clothes here?”
着替える to change clothes
って is a は particle in fancy dress
ここで in here

“yes. i feel gross when i’m wet”.
濡れる to get wet → て + いる (contracted)
と when/if
“besides, nishikata is being bothered (by) finding a place to look” (uncertain, guessing)
それに besides, in addition to
目[め]のやり場[ば] place to look (when averting eyes)
に indirect object, i think here it refers to the thing bothering nishikata, but i’d love for someone to confirm or correct me =/
困る to be bothered/troubled/inconvenienced → て + いる (contracted)
し (giving a) reason
“(i) was exposed”
バレる to leak out (a secret), to be exposed → て + いた (past of いる)
“well then, turn to face over there”
向こう over there
向く to turn towards / to face → て form (向いて) + いる → いて (contracted)
this いて is a bit strange/weird to me, not sure what this て form for いて is communicating

“nishikata, didn’t you (even) get a little wet?”
あんまり (not) very, (not) much
濡れる to get wet → past negative 濡れなかった
i was initially confused by this な in there, although i guessed from context this would mean something like “didn’t (you) get wet”, and eventually things fell into place with the help of ichi.moe (it was obvious in hindsight, damn hindsight)
i’m kind of fudging the english translation a little to try be more natural, i think a more literal would be along the lines of
“nishikata, you didn’t get very wet, right?”
“uhm yes (that’s right, i didn’t get very wet) because i immediately used by bag as rain shelter”
ああ uhm
うん yes
すぐに immediately, right away, at once
カバン bag
を direct object marker
雨除け shelter from the rain
に indirect object marker ~~~
した past tense of する
から because
“right behind me is takagi…”
すぐ immediately, right away right (near), nearby - ohhh new meaning!
後ろ behind
で in/at
ohhh, initially this was unclear. i thought this was nishikata talking about how he and takagi were close when they were in the rain, so i read this as either “(i) was right behind takagi” or “takagi who was right behind (me)”.
then from the next sentence i finally clicked, i hope.
10.6.4 西方 (thought)
服を…
“clothes… (she’s) removing (them)…”
服 clothing / clothes
脱ぐ to take off ones clothes → て form
this is a continuation from the previous panel, nishikata is realising takagi is right behind him removing/changing her clothes.
“wait, i (need to) calm down!!! don’t (even) think (such) strange things!! (you’ll) be branded lewd!”
待て to wait (imperative)
落ち着く to calm down → imperative
this is nishikata telling himself to calm down
the vocab sheet had 落ち着ける(transitive), but i think i’m leaning towards 落ち着く (intransitive), although maybe it works either way
transitive: “wait, i (need to) calm (myself) down”
intransitive: “wait, i (need to) calm down”
考える to think about
な don’t (?) or hey!
hmmm i’m leaning towards
“don’t (even) think (such) strange things”
as i don’t see how i could make “hey, think about strange things” work in context ?
スケベ lewd
烙印を押される to be branded … / to be labelled …

“i don’t want to look, i don’t want to look!! ahh i don’t want to look in the slighted!!!”
見たくない to not want to look
見 see/look
たい want to → negative
全然 (not) at all, (not) in the slighted
そうさ unsure, maybe this is そう (heaving the appearance of) + some さ flare? not sure at all.
“if you want to look it’s okay to look”
or
“you can look if you want to”
見たかったら if you want to look
見てもいい it is okay to look, i give permission to look
