It’s my first post here, so I’ll start by thank the developers and the community here. You’ve really helped me with feeling I can learn Japanese and starting my journey to fulfill a life-long dream of moving to Japan (After I’m done with my PhD, at least).
I love the new site design, but was thinking of a way to improve the heatmap. The issue is mainly that everything above 100 items is marked as the highest degree, meaning I can’t really see any changes in the blocks of time where I’ve had many reviews (as you can see in the attached image).
I think this can be solved in two ways:
Simple way: Add a version of the heat map where the max color limit is higher (maybe 200?).
Slightly less simple way: Make a version of the heat map where the max colors are relative the the number of available items. So if I have 15 lessons and 250 reviews available that day, and I’ve done 13 and 225, I will get ~90% completion and that won’t get me the darkest color.
Another possible improvement can be to consider “a day” by the items themselves and not the actual time of day. Meaning, if an item for review is unlocked during the day, and I complete it after midnight, it will still be counted for the day it was unlocked in.
This may be a little tricky, since you could technically get 100% of a day even if you complete an item a long time after its unlocked, so maybe a 12/24 hour limit on that will be useful.
Just a suggestion to make the heat map that much more useful.
