This sentence from NHK News Easy is confusing me.
大坂選手は第１セットを取られましたが、そのあと２セットを取って勝ちました.
The context is talking about Naomi Osaka winning the US Open. The way I read it is something like “Osaka took the first set but after that took two sets and won”, but this doesn’t seem correct to me.
This is 取られる, the passive form of 取る. The first sentence means that they had the first set taken from them
