I want to create a request for translating a song that has no official lyrics. It’s a soft-phonk / progressive house styled music, written by KIM PHONK and the song’s name is Sayonara. I recognised the lyrics fragments as Japanese text, therefore I searched for a thriving community, where I hope you will help me out. Because I don’t know enough Japanese to be able to write it down after hearing, not even translating it, therefore I ask you to help me.
The direct request is the following: Please transcribe (write down from hearing) the Japanese voice lines, and translate them to English and order these two text together, so I can see, which lines are together. If there is more than one person who want to contribute, you might contact eachother to help, consult, argue about which transcribtion and translation are fitting the original meaning, metaphors, and feel free to share these questions with eachother and with me too. However I don’t feel, I could help too much in the process
For me, this song means a lot, therefore I ask you to handle the text with care.
I want to thank you for reading this post, whether you contributing to this project or not. I hope you will help, or find a person who might help. If you choose to help, here are some links, that will help finding the song or to contact me:
The song is quite all right, and you are correct that the song lyrics are in Japanese. I can make out some of the lyrics, especially with some auto caption help from YouTube.
Have you tried putting it through some AI? Transcribing some text for a good first draft might be a decent use for it.
Roughly from what I gathered the voice sings about walking through a labyrinth and questioning how to continue to get out.
After 40 seconds when more of the beat sets in it’s really hard to hear.
There’s also this line あかしの人生(人世?)なにか世界 (at least that’s how I hear it always) which makes absolutely no sense XD.
OK I listened together with a Japanese friend, and we didn’t fully get everything, but this is what we ended up with. Doubtful passages are marked in bold. Maybe somebody else can understand more or correct us? The text is repeated twice without changes, as far as we could tell.
In my head
like a melody
moving forward, but
although I think about in which direction [to go]
I am confused again
In my life what is the right decision
I want to ask somebody I want an answer
but [-- this is very hard to make out --] labyrinth
I walk but right before I get out
I am confused confused I keep being confused
what to do? what would be good to do?
I stop at what seems to be the end, and [return? turn around?]
“go to the maximum” [I said] - until this is determined
I’ll live simply in this melody
Woah, that is way more than what I got from listening.
makes more sense than what I heard, but it really sounds like なにか the first time. Now I can hear it as なにが the second time at least
I also don’t hear that one. It sounds more like 墓 to me (start of song). 頭の中 makes more sense though.
I also aways heard 迷路 and no 音色. That would also make sense from a story point of view, but I trust natives more to hear these minor differences in such a song.
I must say I find the voice’s accent to be pretty “hard” in terms of dakuten… There are a few locations where I thought I heard e.g. か but it must have been だ.
I think it’s a computer generated voice though, maybe that’s why it’s a bit strange in certain aspects?
Oooh that would also make sense
It was pretty tough for him as well, especially with the music becoming louder in the second half…
On this line we also somewhat disagreed. I think from the story line it would make more sense to hear it as でも誰も知らない形の迷路
Everything except 形 is what my friend said initially. It doesn’t fit exactly but yeah I mean who is 彼 and why did he die - that doesn’t make sense either. (Or maybe together with the 墓??)
