Is there any script that lets you skip vocab that you’re never going to use? I have reached the level where I have to learn baseball terms and I just… don’t care… please
Unsure if there is a script, but you could add a faux user synonym like “aaa” or something for each of the terms you don’t care about- that way when you encounter them in reviews you can just quickly insert and move on without much thought, though still get the reinforced reading practice (which is broadly helpful regardless of actual vocab utility)
I’ve done this a handful of times for baseball and military terms and it’s a nice convenience
you don’t have to study vocab to proceed … I guess they would keep coming up in automatic lessons, but you can use the lesson picker feature to choose the vocab you want and leave the rest behind.
You’d still have to study the radicals / kanji (or at least up to the 80% or whatever it takes to level up).
great idea!!!
This is what I did for ナポレオン三世 because I hated having to type it out.
This is clever- thank you!!
I am 100% going to do this. Thank you!!
What i like to do is split the screen in two. Open window on the left in the lesson picker window, then in a right window go to the Vocab section for that level.
Then look at the vocab individually on the right, see what you need or dont need, then choose your vocabs to study on the left window.
This way you don’t even need to get them in your future reviews.
I was originally of the viewpoint that there werent any useless words but then I ran into the words for metro police department and national police department. I don’t think I need such granularity. 警察 is all thats needed.
I think soon they’ll unveil level 61, which is going to be exclusively vocabulary related to police playing baseball.or one random village name.
There are some decent workarounds but if anyone develops a script to immediately burn a word or kanji, please let me know
the infamous extra WK levels with the extra joyo kanji and the ultra specific terminology! ![]()
