Not sure if this is the right place for it, but does anyone understand the appeal of host clubs and hostess bars?
Through some weird youtube algorithm thing i ended on a channel from some host guys and i am so confused as to
- How are men with some much plastic surgery considered ikemen. I mean most of them try to look the same. Kind of like this small nose small chin giant eyes filter that are used by do many japanese on social media or purikura.
- Where is all the money coming from the people are spending at these establishments. They are talking about 5000$ being on the low side for one person to spend in an evening.
- Does it only look to me like the whole things is a giant scam?
- Is there some japanese culture thing i just don’t get.
Sorry if this is weird to bring up. I can’t really explain it but this whole industry just seems sketchy but so interesting at the same time.
