Is it な as the attributive copula?

In those cases, な replaces だ.
In my head it’s:「事故だ」(is what the officials say about the event) 訳ないよな。
Since it’s dialogue/inner voice, the grammar also gets a bit more loose.
Curious to see what others have to say, because I’m not confident on this.
Just to clarify because I wasn’t clear, this is someone talking to the my character directly. So nothing internal or the likes. Directly to a classmate that he hasn’t known for long but the person talking seems to be a fairly casual guy.

Based on the structure info on Bunpro:
My hypothesis is that since the phrase before 訳がない is usually a verb, na-adj. or i-adj., a noun (like 事故) would be grammatically incorrect. Then how would you attach a noun if you so wanted to? Treat it like a na-adjective.
Totally unrelated, but reminds me of weird grammar/unusual inflections like だいじょうばない (instead of 大丈夫じゃない) or 違くない (instead of 違わない).
Yes, this is right. The 日本語文型辞典 explicitly lists the forms as
N な/である わけがない
Na なわけがない
A/V わけがない
with an example of
あいつが犯人なわけ(が)ないじゃないか
Incidentally it’s only present tense だ copula that turns into な here: past tense だった stays as it is.
oho! Then technically what I said about “a noun is grammatically incorrect” is not right. I just 勝手に thought so since bunpro didn’t mention anything about nouns.

Which conjugated form is 頼らざる? something that comes from 頼らない? or 頼ら+ざる, if so what is ざる? or something else?
Context sentence: よって情けない話にはなるが、究極的には犯人の自白に頼らざるを得なかった。
It conjugates from the ない stem form, and as far as I can remember I basically only see it in ~ざるを得ない form, meaning “can’t help but do (verb)”. Bunpou says ざる is an old negative form like ない

This form is the reason why the Three Wise Monkeys are monkeys - i.e. 見ざる see-no-evil, 聞かざる hear-no-evil, 言わざる speak-no-evil, can also be interpreted as 見猿 the unseeing monkey, 聞か猿 the unhearing monkey, 言わ猿 the unspeaking monkey.
Interesting tidbit. Never actually thought about why they were monkeys but thats pretty neat

Without looking too much into, just JP wikipedia article seems to disagree, and put forward some more probable theories.
If anything it’s a fun mnemonic. Like when people say dog is god backwards to hold dogs in high esteem
I guess the たる below is the 2nd dictionary definition?

The たる+を is something I’ve never seen before, but I guess that 2nd definition meaning fits with allowing it.
GG5 has another example:
何人(なにびと)たるを問わず – (no matter) who [whoever] it may be; irrespective of person
Yeah it’s emphasizing that Marika specifically entrusted the seal of destined death to Maliketh. Very godly, Golden Order type speech pattern.
This is in the item description for the Mist Continent map in FFIX (they seem to like just putting random quotes on these kinds of things)

I understand the gist of the whole thing, and I get that it’s in old-style Japanese… I just don’t fully grasp the way 夢に果てなきうちは is functioning. Figured I’d toss it in here and see if anyone has advice for how to think about it. It’s probably just that I’m not used to seeing the structure, so it throws me off.
Bonus points I guess if someone has the EN version. I couldn’t find a wiki with the item description or anything like that.
Quick search indicates this is from the 霧の大陸マップ item, but there’s no page for that item specifically with the English description so far as I can find. I did find this reddit post, and the right image looks like what you’re looking for.
Working backwards from the translation, it sounds like 夢に果てなきうちは is basically saying “While your dreams aren’t ended”. So loosely, “While your dreams aren’t ended, the road also has no end. If anything can get in your way, it is only your fear.”
