🍃 Shenmue Tree - a Study "Lounge!" 🍂

I may (or may not) own the entire series

It’s just so brilliantly written and produced.

Oddly enough, he was a chicken as was his Boneless Chicken uncle (?). Wild that was.

Shows how much I know my animals… Now ask me to identify a Wallaby from a Kangaroo or a Toad from a Frog or a Salamander from a Newt…

No, please don’t!

Not your fault at all. That show was just ummm unique. And when I was a kid, the parent reveal in the pilot episode scared the bejesus out of me.

HAHAH! I don’t remember that, and now I’m scared to look into it!

So many youngsters here, raised up on their Johnny Bravos and their Powerpuff Girls.

Now I kind of wonder if there are any Japanese dubs of some of the cartoons I grew up on...

(If not, then that there’s a very tiny niche just waiting to be filled.)

SMURRRFFFFSSS!

And I think that’s HEMAN! or He-Man? or HE-MAN! Either way, I at least recognize them.

Love the smurfs, again, a wholesome cartoon!

My favorite cartoon at the age of 5-6 was “David the Gnome”

No idea if anyone knows it, but it was my jam at that age

I grew up on the Smurfs as well, but all I know about He-man is that he left his he-toe somewhere in my Wanikani mnemonics:)

All the more reason to use your own mnemonics! Poor he-man!

Hey, I grew up on Johnny Bravo and the Smurfs.

…Though in all honesty, the Smurfs have been around a fair bit longer than I have :joy:

A.K.A. the most famous of the Four Non Blondes

HAHAHAHA! Well, smurfs will live in legend, other cartoons shall not!

:skull_and_crossbones: death :skull: AKA I need to go to sleep

On top of the weird rash (which I think might be due to a spider bite), the :skull_and_crossbones: feeling has worsened. I think I might be catching a cold (I’ve had the rona, so I don’t supect that based on my symptoms). I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do much more than my reviews today, but I will read a sentence or two in something. Either way, I probably need to take a break from :four_leaf_clover: today…

Goals: Do reviews!

That doesn’t sound like a good time… 早く良くなってね!

“I hope it isn’t that - feel better soon!” ???

(probably off but I get the sentiment )

早く - adverb form of 早い, so quickly (I wonder if 速く is better? I think using 早 conveys more of a nuance of “early” than one of “fast”)
良く - adverb form of 良い, so well
なって - imperative of なる (to become)

So just get well soon  It seemed overly literal to me, but a Japanese native speaker on HiNative gave it as a translation, so I guess it checks out.

OOOOOO!

This is new to me, and I will have to check it out!

TY yamitenshi! I will soon feel better, I hope!

I wholeheartedly recommend HiNative. It’s a great place to check for natural translations, because the translations are often given by people who are fluent or even native speakers.

It’s a good place to ask (and answer) questions too!

Then I will take a break from :four_leaf_clover: today as well in solidarity. I’ll just count the example sentences in my Anki deck towards my daily reading :upside_down_face:

Take it easy and get well soon :slightly_smiling_face:

 aw thank you sleepy! I hope this might help @crmsnprincess89 progress toward our page as well!
