Nah you’re doing great. The apprentice and guru numbers are in a bit of a holding pattern - that’s to be expected because you recently leveled up. The master and enlightened are where you can really see the progress.

Remember, you’re not just climbing UP the mountain; you’re climbing AROUND the mountain (and it’s a wide ass mountain!). It gets narrower the higher up you go. Those apprentice and guru numbers will start going down at a faster pace as the master and enlightened move out of the SRS. Keep chipping away! You got this!
Yeah, I know that I’m burning 20 items a day ever day and that the long term review pile must hence be falling rapidly.
It’s still really annoying though, especially when you keep missing all those Guess That Rendaku! coinflip questions. For example, this morning I missed 稲田 and 小包 due to guessing the reading coinflips wrong (I put inata and kotsutsumi, respectively). Yes I know those aren’t technically all rendakus, but you know what I mean. jin/nin is another major offender.
I remember getting some rendaku wrong and asking about it here awhile ago. There are articles that try to explain it, but those are all efforts to find method in the madness after the fact. With alternate readings and rendaku, it really is mostly a case-by-case basis and individual memorization. Less of a “Hey I know this kanji!” and more of “Hey, I know this kanji, but it could be any of 17 readings, many of which could probably create some kind of word that actually exists…”

To be honest it’s probably good for you and for your reviews to have a break day once per week. Less ideal just after you’ve levelled up, but a fair number of your new items must be guru by now.
I’ve sometimes deliberately skipped a day before when waiting for level up items to come back up for review, but that wasn’t what happened this time, and I didn’t have any level up items that needed to wait.
