Even as joke that’s a tad outlandish. There’s an enormous payoff to spending a little bit of time up front to find a comfortable learning approach, considering most of us (if we finish) are going to be doing a bunch of reviews virtually every day for probably two years.

Exactly. The way I see it, WK is really just a glorified way of memorizing a dictionary. As such, I decide to treat it like one and go about my reviews in a very orthodox order. The words will help you read, but its very important to actually crack open some native texts.
You can go to the batting cages to practice your batting all you want, but that can only help you during the game so much. Its important to get some practice from a human pitcher as well.
