Week 7’s thread is live! Read on to find out about しにがみ and もへい’s money making scheme.
I tried getting this book from all the websites you mentioned above, but even buying from Amazon didn’t work buying because I was not in the right region. This was the same for the other two websites. So I need VPN for all the websites above?
Ty for your help in advance, Cheers
Have you tried verasia? Where do you live?
I have a VPN, so I got this on my kindle, but rakuten has an international shipping option called global express. Not sure exactly how it works, but you could give it a shot.
For amazon.jp you don’t need a VPN but you do need to make a separate amazon.jp account. It won’t work to buy it with your regular account from your own country.
Hi I recently have made a step by step guide to setup an amazon jp kindle account here if you’re still in need of help.
Hey thank you, I live in germany. Verasia seems to work I think. I will try it. Thank you
How about week 8?
Hey! I’ve been out of town for a few days, will get the thread up and running now.
Week 8 is here! Time to find out what happens to もへい and continue on to the story of the 山ねこ
Week 9 is here! We’ll be introduced to a new friend, 花子ちゃん。
So…I think I’m still in the first story of this book.
But I’m proud of myself for getting it!
There was a surprising amount of stuff that I didn’t know in the first story…I tried not feel bad that it should only take a Japanese kids 10 minutes to get through. (I don’t think I finished the first story, yet)
Yay, go Shannon!
I started filling out the vocab sheet for the week 9 story today and came across several vocab words that I didn’t know! Quiz: do you know how to say playing house or jump rope in Japanese? Because I didn’t But a Japanese child sure would!
Week 11’s thread is posted!
Hi, I’m jumping into this bookclub at week 11. I was planning to start with A Sign of Affection but this book looks fun and if I’m ordering one book, I may as well order two.
I’ve not done a bookclub before so I’m slightly apprehensive but excited.
Welcome to the book club!
This is a great one to jump in on since it’s all short stories! You can always go back to the older weeks and read them at your own pace too
Week 12 is live!
