After watching the episode, I was also a bit disappointed that they skipped the whole 年越しそば conversation, because it took me so long to read it, and I thought it was quite funny. Also, Yuru Camp food is always yummy
I’m coming late to the book club because I wanted to watch the S2 premiere before dipping into the manga again, which was absolutely everything I hoped for after waiting all this time. Me and a buddy watched S1 when it was airing and it hasn’t lost any of its comf. Seemed to be higher production quality too, or at least the OP was.
The musical motif of Lake Motosu playing when Nadeshiko and Rin see each other in person for the first time that episode was extremely gratifying to hear. I love this series so much
Ah, the OP wasn’t higher quality, just a different style.
Yeah it prolly is, I was just extremely excited to see the show come back and the OP captured a lot of the excitement I’ve had for its return haha
Volume 6 thread ready when you are, @Naphthalene!
If someone could just confirm the last page number of each chapter that would be swell. If it’s easier feel free to wait until the OP is a wiki and just make any corrections directly.
It will have to wait half a day, until I have access to a computer. But I guess people will just start reading on their own
Thanks for putting up the thread!
Shiny new thread! Looking forward to the new volume, lack of furigana notwithstanding
Yeah sorry, I meant to do it earlier in the week but the crunch got to me
I’ve made a deck on Kitsun for ゆるキャン△ - Volume 1 with the vocabulary list from Google sheets (thanks to everyone that compiles them!). I’ll also make a vocabulary deck for the other volumes available
Link: Kitsun.io (requires being signed in to see it)
It’s tagged by chapters and by weeks (that the book club read), so you can easily follow through with the list. It’s also ordered by appearance in the manga (the index number corresponds to the page number).
Hope it’s useful to someone
Just a quick tip for everyone reading on bookwalker. Currently if you buy a ゆるキャン△ manga you get 50% back as coins. That deal lasts until the 24th.
… just days after I bought everything.
Undo undo undo!!!
I finally had time to sit down and get comfy with season 2 of the anime this week
well I didn’t really have time, I guess, but I did it anyway
It’s always funny to realize how much more lackadaisical and, well, laid-back the manga is when it comes to pacing.
Season 2 is quite nice, especially with the more meditative aspects of Rin and Nadeshiko’s character arcs. I don’t often read manga in conjunction with a series as it airs, so the “dead air” of CGDCT shenanigans definitely stands out more on the page. It also keeps giving me excuses to put off reading because the episodes are still fresh in my mind (oopsie).
Still looking forward to continuing reading tho!
Here’s a video that just came out from a youtube channel I like that hits some of the reasons I enjoy this series so much.
I didn’t discover Kinokuniya locally until after I had visited Japan and spent a bunch of time trawling through manga stores trying to find beginner friendly books. It is definitely dangerous for the wallet!
By the way, I think we are starting volume 7 in 2 days or so.
Do you mind putting up the thread @Radish8 ?
oh shid that snuck up
aight, Yuru time let’s go
Sure thang
Here she is:
I’ve requested wiki-ness, and will add to the OP here etc this evening. Thanks for organising!
Edit: it’s now a wiki. The start pages for each chapter should be correct, but if anybody notices that the end pages are wrong feel free to correct it (and adjust the length).
