I’ve been away on cat-sitting duty since the readathon without convenient access to Bookwalker so instead I restarted my Animal Crossing island, or as I now know it as “あつまれどうぶうの森”, to play through in Japanese and slowly started working through the game’s opening. I used a Game Gengo video to check my work (i’m so glad I found this!) and also handwrote the sentences in my shockingly bad Japanese handwriting to make some grammar notes.
My reading for today was to finish going through the intro and then afterwards I ran through it again (absolutely not because I was being picky about my villagers 
) and had a nice laugh at how my hours and hours of work is actually only a minute or two of reading for a native reader! 
It’s something to work towards in a few years time at least. Now that I’m past the point of the Game Gengo video I feel like I’ve had my floaties taken away!
