Back to Animal Crossing today - I’ve finally got far enough to set up my テント! Today I came across my anki nemesis 必要 (necessary/needed). For seemingly no reason at all I always mix it up with 絶対 (absolutely) and wind myself up every time I get the definitions switched. Hopefully encountering it in the wild will help me to remember better in the future.
I also had a bit of trouble with たぬきち/Tom Nook, but not the financial kind this time. He ends his sentences with だなも which I thought was a grammar point, so I was frantically searching through my grammar notes and in the dictionary trying to understand it only to come across a Wanikani forum post that points out it’s just his vocal tick. Wasted way too much time on that one!
