Just a little Loopers on Switch today. I like to read the text in Japanese first, see how much I understand, and then switch to English to check. It’s fun when I recognize more and more kanji and vocab too!

  • Finished 泣き虫スマッシュ, a very enjoyable kid’s book read that was a nice level of easy but challenging. I’m enjoying my foray in the kid’s section - the content may be a bit basic but being able to understand it at all is still a joy.
  • Started up 逆転裁判 again, will play a case then pause again to read a book I think. It’s… very comforting how easy the flow feels for me now with this game. Didn’t get too far (just met the client for this case and got a basic overview) but I’m still satisfied with this amount of progress at a time.

Edit, found the problem (a spare bracket) and fixed it

  • Continuing case 3 in 逆転裁判, talked to another witness, went and got a letter of authority and came back, now finally actually have access to the crime scene [LAWYERS DO NOT PROCESS THE CRIME SCENE]
  • Finished はなにあらし１, it’s a really comfy and easy read as a side gig, I could have finished it earlier probably if I had been rushing it but it was nice just to take it at a relaxed pace tbh. I’ll pick up the series next applicable sale. Not sure where I’m headed next - I have a bit of a backlog of recently released manga in a series I’m following that I should probably take a look at…

Read a tiny bit while traveling today. Didn’t read any yesterday. I’m probably going to be focusing on English book for a bit (the plot happened to start on the day of the fall equinox which was when I started rereading it. I did not remember that, so that was a fun coincidence. Probably 6 years since I read it last time. Title: A Discovery of Witches, for anyone interested)

i don’t know. might chill for a while before the next challenge, accidentally got a bit burnt out with the pile of anki (but insane progress, so Not Really Complaining, Might Do That Later), but overall i’m really glad that I randomly decided to commit into that activity!!!

I love that book. I collected the whole trilogy physically and wanted to get the sequels but they don’t publish them in the same mass market format again. (I’m the type that likes to have books in a physical collection all match by size and publisher.)

Today’s reading included a free Tadoku Level 1 reader which was a story about a huge apple that was happy to be eaten - shades of the cow at the restaurant at the end of the universe but with none of the black humour

  • Another little bit of 逆転, talked to a witness and the 刑事 and found the key to get to the crime scene. Will tackle it tomorrow.
  • Actually spent a lot of time fiddling around with Anki droid trying to get a bluetooth keyboard and a mini controller to work… working on it.
