i uh kinda fell off the last day of the challenge (for both jp and eng) so i’m not gonna count it. other than that i think this one went mostly okay. i tackled some longer and more difficult books/manga so my numbers are fairly low but it was a nice reminder that i need to kick my habit of being a bit lazy when reading sometimes 😅

Very little reading today. Hugely busy at work, spent all my time at home watching TV for listening challenge. Until this weekend, I think my reading is going to consist of bits and pieces, and hopefully a good chunk of night-time pre bed reading. It’s going to take a real back seat to listening overall though, just temporarily.
Still, almost finished with 継母. After that I will finish something else hopefully. Will try to work through one thing at a time.

The funny thing is that I was sure that it is called 本なら読むほど (from the conversation with my friend), and I even searched it like that and didn’t notice that the title is different 😂 Not after I bought it, or added to Natively, or even read through it.

Just got back from a week in New York, and finished reading a few manga volumes!!
-Blue Box volumes 1 & 2. I’ve been caught up with Blue Box for a long while in English, but bought the first two Japanese volumes a few years ago
-Haikyuu volume 42 & 43. Again, I’ve read it all in English, but wanted to re-read these volumes and bought them in Japanese a few years ago

Today was bad, my favorite streamer was streaming for 7.5h. Had to watch on 1.5x speed to watch it all, spent 5h in total. Leaves me time reading only one chapter, haha TuT. Yabai yooo (good listening practice tho)

Read:
・11 pages of こころ, reading ch 12-14 and leaving off on pg 56
・ひだまりが聴こえる
If Fumino-sensei hadn’t written in the あとがき that she didn’t realise until partway through that she was supposed to be writing a BL (and apparently didn’t even know what BL was), I honestly wouldn’t have known. It just feels like their relationship is developing naturally—as friends and getting to know each other, and gradually falling in love and realising after they’ve already fallen that they have. I think I prefer stories like that.
(Geez her handwriting’s really hard to read, though. I only read like half of it.)

Record lows! Don’t remember the last time I read this little in a day, probably sometime in April. With a big bump in listening and being tired from work, trying to snag a little reading before bed is hard. Really wish work would stop being busy bit there’s another 2 weeks or so of it being almost constantly busy, unfortunately. After that it quietens down for another few weeks though.
With that being said, I am about to go push through to the end of 継母 vol.1 imminently, only 5-6% left. I’ll put it in tomorrow’s stats though.
I want to finish one of the two manga tomorrow, if possible. Will carve out an hour from somewhere for that hopefully.
