Today I played another big chunk of Ni No Kuni and tamed another forest guardian, found the desert city, reunited a family and recruited the second party member. It’s hard to judge my progress. By story structure, it could be like 40% through as we’ve had a forest zone, a desert zone, and been told about a water zone and whatever is on the other side of that volcano (probably a fire/wasteland zone) which would fit narratively, and also by quest numbering I’m on 20 of 50-ish, but also it feels super late to be recruiting a second companion. I’m not expecting this to be a long game, which I guess is throwing off my sense of progression, because parts of the experience are telling me I’m quite far along and others are telling me I’m in the beginning.
