Words of the day
  • ビリ = the last. Like どん尻(じり).
  • 棲(す)む = to dwell, of an animal in its nest :cat2: :nest_with_eggs:
  • 洗(あら)う = to investigate; to probe. Also, to wash :bathtub:
  • 大口(おおぐち)を叩(たた)く = to boast
  • 余儀(よぎ)なくされる = to be forced to do
  • 度(ど)を越(こ)す = to go too far. 度(ど)を超(こ)す in context, but not in IME nor preferred by Weblio.
  • 轍(てつ)を踏(ふ)む = to follow the same rut; to repeat the same mistake = 前車(ぜんしゃ)の轍(てつ)を踏(ふ)む. Another reading of the first Kanji is 轍(わだち).
  • 群生(ぐんせい) = growing en masse in one location (of plants)
  • 草野球(くさやきゅう) = grass-lot baseball :baseball:. Amateur one.
  • 打(う)ち切(き)り = stopping; calling it a day. Also the verb version 打(う)ち切(き)る in the same context.
