Words of the day
  • くりくり. = (on-mim) round, plump and lovely (eyes). Probably rotating くるくる, so it became round.
  • どんでん返がえし = complete reversal, e.g. of plot
  • 興収こうしゅう = box office revenue (movie). From 興行収入こうぎょうしゅうにゅう.
    • 興行こうぎょう is entertainment show/industry. Probably of a kind to make excited.
    • 興業こうぎょう is something else.
  • 猿猴えんこう = monkey family. Also a kind of 河童かっぱ.
  • 三下さんした = petty underling
  • 億万長者おくまんちょうじゃ = billionaire. Chief of (106)2 = 108 x 104.
  • モノクロ. = monochrome. Just find it funny to feel like 物もの黒くろ (と白しろ).
  • テイスト. (taste), スペクタクル. (spectacle). My ability to parse Katakana fails sometimes today.
  • アンニュイ. = ennui; boredom. 退屈たいくつ. I remembered as a word that looks like Romaji, but isn’t; though never thought to see in 外来語がいらいご.
  • 新興宗教しんこうしゅうきょう = new religion. Sect? 洗脳せんのう?
