I started reading アステリズムに花束を 百合SFアンソロジ with the GL/yuri book club in Natively, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s an anthology, and the first story of the book is narrated in 2nd person, which is really fun..  
あなたも殺人犯になれる has also been a delight, it’s hard to follow at times with so many characters, but the story is dynamic and catchy.  
But I must say, peak fun of the weekend was starting イケメン夫はゴリラ妻とプリティ娘を愛しすぎてる, which is included in kindle unlimited and had previously caught my attention, but I hadn’t tried yet. I’m a sucker for romances with ‘alternative’ couples, and I love how the wife is a super-muscular athlete in this one. I might read further, probably so if the next volumes are also included in kindle unlimited.

**Nov 21**

I had a tooth removed 😭 so i was hopped up on painkillers and icepacks for most of the day. But that did mean more reading time…

- Finished 隣は何を食う人ぞ～ほろよい～2, boosted by the aforementioned chapter reuse. I love this series.
- Started 僕の心のヤバイやつ 1 and… like it? I had been avoiding it because the chuuni main guy is a complete edgelord and like starts the series by fantasising about killing people in his class who minorly tick him off, but within like 3 chapters that kind of goes by the wayside and the tone becomes way goofier. Also it’s one of the weird series where there’s a _tonne_ of lookups for me but because the grammar is pretty straightforward it still feels relatively easy to read.

Played another stretch of AI: The Somnium Files, this time with a text hooker in place. 36 238 characters read. Really speeds up lookups, which is necessary as otherwise the game would be far too hard for me as of now. My fault for not delving deeper into sci-fi vocabulary yet – on the bright side, playing through some 逆転裁判 games earlier really helps with the criminal / detective / murder mystery vocabulary.

Came across some pretty funny kanji clusters like this one: 「警察官職務執行法第２条３項 刑事訴訟に関する法律の規定によらない限り」

As an added bonus the texthooker creates a transcript for me, which I could further pull new flashcards from. There’s still a step of automation missing here, but getting there…

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, and according to Seasons 🍂, a new season. All hail 小雪(しょうせつ) or the time when rain turns to ice and we get funky winter rainbows! Seasons says they’re different from summer rainbows… It also included some poetic ways to call snow, 風花(かざはな)、六花(りっか)、銀(ぎん)花(か)、and 瑞(ずい)花(か)

On the other hand, colors 🌈 has the most beautiful pumpkin orange spread for 小雪(しょうせつ) and invokes many maple leaves. In the later pages, lettuce, and 千(せ)両(りょう)・万(まん)両(りょう) berries are invoked.

As for 😳 …I got most of the way through a chapter before realizing it was content I don’t want to read 😕 But the last chapter was pretty good. So for this volume it was 5 different stories, 7 chapters- 2 stories/4 chapters I really liked, 1 meh chapter/story, 1 eh chapter/story, and 1 chapter/story I want to throw in the trash. Dunno if I’ll keep this manga or not, but I’m counting it complete.

Omg I thought text lookup manga wasn’t possible on iOS because it didn’t let you capture the screen. Does this work on Kindle app for ios???

/edit I misunderstood, I think you are using it as a floating app as a normal dictionary (the same way I use akebi on a seperate phone while reading on my iPad) but I want something that works like Kaku on Android (OCRs the screen but needs higher permission levels than iOS is prepared to grant) or Yomichan in a desktop browser

**Nov 22**

- Still on a painkiller regime, but as a result, my available time for reading has shot up.
- Finished 僕の心のヤバイやつ 1, will continue. I didn’t think you could sell me on yet another girl teases boy book but it has a bit more than that going on, and I actually dig the wonky artstyle.
- Started [日本へようこそエルフさん。1 | L24??](https://learnnatively.com/book/5b107ff908/). This one is quite difficult, probably Tearmoon or above level (it doesn’t even have bloody furigana for the names on first introduction which is annoying)… if Eagleflo’s iOS lookup app works I can probably speed things up a tad… but it’s one of my favourites and I’ve read the LN before in English (and read most of the manga) so I can vaguely recall some things.

Because of the Pokémon ヒドイデ, I realized that I know that the word for “starfish” is ヒトデ.

Found out on Friday that Bookmeter only shows/count rereads on the website, not in the app. Sorting your 読んだ本 by 新しい順, it shows your most recent reread but not any previous reads, while sorting 古い順 only shows the first read. Maybe because the book page doesn’t show your date(s) read? Anyway, counting rereads, I reached 300 books read on Wednesday (15th), but not counting them, I reached 300 yesterday (20th). But since a few of those are DJs, I’ve still got a little bit to go to reach 300 on Natively.

My city’s library doesn’t have any Japanese books :​( For _learning_ Japanese, sure, but not for reading it. Just Spanish and French (expected; they’re the only two foreign language options in school, unless any got added after I graduated; plus, like, Mexico’s right there—Texas has a large Hispanic population) and also Vietnamese (surprising; if there was a third I thought either another European language or else Mandarin). Well, there’s no guarantee they’d even have anything I’d want to read even if they did have a JP section, but it would still have been somewhere to check semi-regularly.
