Interesting words
  • あしらう = to handle; to garnish
  • ふんだんに = plentiful; abundant. Sound changes from 不断(ふだん)に.
  • 切(せつ)に = strongly; passionately
  • 気難(きむずか)しい = hard to please
  • 仕立(した)て = tailoring; dressmaking
  • 感(かん)じ取(と)る = to sense; to guess
  • 飢(き)きん = crop failure; chronic shortage. Full Kanji form is 飢饉(ききん).
  • 付与(ふよ) = bestowal; granting
  • 習得(しゅうとく) = learning; acquisition. I believe I have seen 修得(しゅうとく) before as well, which is more of studying and training. (JJ has separate entries.)
  • 採掘(さいくつ) = mining
  • 勉強(べんきょう) = discount; price reduction. Actually, I have realized this meaning for a while, but first time to it in action.
  • 貴金属(ききんぞく) = precious metal
