  • Super Doctor K Vol.1 Ch.1 (first half)

Somehow I find this one interesting enough, also medical. Otherwise, I am considering continuing to はたらく細胞 Vol.3.

Interesting vocabularies
  • 収容(しゅうよう) = housing / hospitalization / custody
  • 主治医(しゅじい) = someone’s usual doctor. Probably better remembered as a whole word.
  • 見本(みほん) = a specimen / a sample
  • つかさどる = to govern. 司(つかさ) is an official / an office.
  • 排泄(はいせつ) = excretion. Kanji is a nice guesser, but new second Kanji.
  • グレる = to become a delinquent. Becoming a moral gray-zone guy?
  • おっ死(チ)ぬ = to die, but with Katakana チ
  • マント = a cloak. Make a human 饅頭(マントー) :pancakes:?
  • はおる = to wear. Kanji form is 羽織(はお)る, and noun form is a clothing (羽織(はおり)).
  • ひねくれる = to get sulky. Kanji form is 捻(ひね)くれる.
  • 納(おさ)める = to pay (taxes, shrine donation). Also, to keep storage.

Phrases

  • まきあげる to take away (money). Kanji form is 巻(ま)き上(あ)げる.
  • 落(お)ちぶれる = to be reduced to poverty.
  • 事(こと)なきを得(え)る = to survive without incidents. 事(こと)なき is actually 事無き, that is, 無事(ぶじ).
  • 応急手当(おうきゅうてあて) The first part 応急(おうきゅう) is temporary makeshift. The latter part is 手当(てあ)て = treatment.
  • 喧嘩(けんか)をふっかける = to pick a fight. Kanji form of latter is indeed 吹(ふ)っ掛(か)ける.
  • 血相(けっそう)を変(か)える = face turn to an expression (pale, angry). 血相(けっそう) is 顔の表情。顔つき。顔色。
  • 当(あ)たり散(ち)らす = to find fault. Like, trying to randomly hit everything.

Forgotten ones

  • 心得(こころえ) = knowledge / understanding, with the verb form 心得(こころえ)る
  • むくみ = swelling
  • おっかない = scary
