Well, Pokemon, but different from the original anime. I also have read this one in the past, in my native language; perhaps to around first 5-6 volumes. Only recently that I realized that it is a very long series, and new volumes are still being written.

I stumbled a little at 吸血(きゅうけつ) (Like that 吸血鬼 thread).

I think the two Kanji’s in the first line of the description is 鱗粉(りんぷん). Perhaps コンパン in the third line is 今般(こんぱん).

  • かがみの孤城 (上) 88% => 91% (start of Ch.8 December)

Interesting vocabularies
  • 交響曲(こうきょうきょく) symphony, like ベートーヴェンの第 6 交響曲
  • 思(おも)わしい what can be thought is satisfactory. Opposite is 思(おも)わしくない.
  • へんくつ like weird and stubborn, I guess. Kanji form is 偏屈(へんくつ)
  • こそ泥(どろ) = こそこそ (sneaking) + 泥棒(どろぼう)
  • ハンデ handicap, but small ィ is missing (ハンディキャップ)
  • 険(けわ)しい detailed (詳(くわ)しい), but 危険(きけん)
  • 授(さず)ける left reliable to someone (預(あず)ける) and also chosen ones (指(さ)す)
  • 一時的(いちじてき) really not sure whether to pick this reading (also in Wanikani without 的) or another one (一時(ひととき)).; but no choice after looking up
  • ちっぽけ like ちょっぴり? (also, Chi)
  • 溌剌(はつらつ) lively-spicy (辛辣(しんらつ)), like tsunami (氵) being emitted (発(はつ))

Phrases

  • 思(おも)い上(あ)がる high on thinking. Well, conceited.
  • 鳥肌(とりはだ)が立(た)つ Japanese version of “bird” bumps. I think it can be visualized as long long feathers standing.
  • 耳(みみ)をそばだてる ears got erected (立(た)てる) on the sides (側(そば)). Kanji form is 欹(そばだ)てる.

Forgotten ones

  • はじく to flick; to repel. Kanji form is 弾(はじ)く
  • 連携(れんけい) like, joining 携帯電話(けいたいでんわ)? Just can’t think of other words right now. Some related words, perhaps 提携(ていけい) or 携(たずさ)わる.
