Well, reading starts on Monday, so you do have the weekend still
I did read this weekâs stuff in one sitting, but yeah, it took about 3 hours? A bit more maybe? Longer than I expected in any case. At some point it did look up how many pages I had left and thought âwow, thatâs actually a lotâ.
Itâs also taking me much longer with ReZero. And, actually as the pattern goes for me, I only have 3/4 of Saturday because I work Sunday too
Between the 2 other books which I canât drop, and other misc stuff, I barely have time on Saturday. Thatâs why itâs tough but Iâll have to manage in some way
(<- This is Subaruâs pose btw)
By the way, I wanted to ask, but having finished the first chapter, is it possible to watch the first episode of the anime spoiler-free? Or do they just put stuff in a weird order meaning I will have to wait until much later?
I think you can, indeed. But be careful not to watch more.
Itâs easy to get carried away with shows like thisâŠ
Ohh yeah itâs a good idea to watch the first episode. Itâs a special 1 hour, (you might find people referring to episodes 1-A and 1-B, both make up episode 1). I encourage it, at least, just to get the image of how Subaru acts. But be careful, chapter 1 ends at the start of episode 1B (minute 4:20).
The order honors the novel and follows it closely. There are minor changes later on, but theyâre just stuff that was cut.
Well, the actual costs of renting the thing is usually enough to stop me from bingeing
Mm ok. Iâll wait until we are further ahead then. When are we going to cover the B part?
Episode 1B ends on page 154. So in 2 weeks?
*confused jneapan noises
I watched it on Crunchyroll so idk about renting. How are you renting just one episode?
By going to the rental shop and, well, renting 1 dvd. The first dvd only has the first episode.

(Sorry couldnât help it
)

Well, I am older than the average forum user, so I guess I just have different habits.
It feels much more satisfying to watch something if you have to go get a dvd rather than just click on a button too, but thatâs probably just me.
I donât even have a DVD player (unless you count the PS3) and rental shops have gone out of business long ago in my city
soâŠ
Just be a little bit patient. Everything will be clear soon enough
? I wasnât aware something wasnât clear yet.
Meanwhile, Tsutaya (the main rental company in my area) has made record profits last year.
on the other hand, VoD isnât super convenient (yet, I guess). Iâm glad Japan is behind the technological curve
Itâs available on Amazon prime or for rental for individual episodes. Idk how much your dvd shops charge for renting. Iâve legit not seen one in years.
Episode 1 is free on Amazon, so that definitely beats the rental place. Anything after that is about 2.5 times as expensive as going to the shop
In fact, the monthly fee of amazon prime is just the price of 2 episodes (or just a bit less than 6 episodes if I go to the shop), which makes me wonder who would just rent individual episodes. Thatâs about exactly what I have been spending monthly over the past year, but then I wouldnât have any limit
That sounds dangerous nice.
Netflix basically put rental stores out of business in the U.S.
Getting really off track
I pretty much expect the same thing to eventually happen in Japan, but weâve been spared so far. That being said, rental chains are aware of that and are starting their own VoD services (e.g. Tsutaya tv). Speaking of Tsutaya, they have also a monthly subscription that lets you rent as many dvd as you want (except for recent ones). Both services are a bit too expensive for me though, especially considering Amazon prime seems much cheaper
