Radicals introduced after having learned the Kanji - Should still include that Kanji in the "Found In Kanji" section

@Mods

Example:
Kanji: - Sell is learned in Lv. 9.
Radical - Sell is learned in Lv.10.

Why it’s done in that order could be it’s own topic.
But when looking at the radical page it doesn’t even include it’s own Kanji 売 in the “found in section”. I was really confused by this, cause I knew there was also a Sell Kanji, had to look it up using the search bar…

Now that i’m in Lv. 21. same can be said for radical Half, Number, and next.
All their associated kanji’s are not in the “found in Kanji” section.

Unlike radicals learned before their associated kanji.
Example Lv. 9 Radical Spicy & (my current level) Lv.21 Simulations

I’m guessing this error is also found in many other radicals pages.
It’s not a complaint. I love WaniKani :turtle:
Just wanted to get this under the attention. As it could be a minor coding mistake or something.

It’s not an error, it’s a feature. The “found in kanji” list shows only the kanji that use that specific radical as a mnemonic component when being taught - the mnemonic components for 売-as-a-kanji are “samurai”, “forehead” and “legs”, thus it does not contain the “buy” radical, despite being visibly identical.

Kanji are frequently re-introduced later as new radicals for the purposes of simplifying later mnemonics, but the new radicals are considered as separate mnemonic components.

That’s a good explanation. but why not add them in both then?
