I use the reorder script to do the radicals and kanji first, and I try to do 20 or 30 lessons a day, but that doesn’t always happen…
Like Saida said, pay attention to the 4 and 8 hour reviews. I do lessons in the morning and do the 4 hour review around lunchtime, then the 8 hour review in the evening. Sometimes I do lessons 4 hours before I go to bed.
If I do my lessons consistently, I can usually get 0/0 on each level. I try to do reviews as they come in. I average around 8 days per level like this.
Same thing happened to me
Simultaneous edits can do crazy stuff, I guess
I always do reviews before lessons. Meaning, not doing lessons until my review pile goes to zero, save a few exceptions.
On lessons, I attack “critical” items (Radicals and kanji needed to level-up) first, distribute the rest of the pile on equally sized chunks through the week in order to have as much consistency as possible. I do lessons exclusively on mornings, except for mid-level kanji, which usually unlocks on afternoons.
My WK schedule is 9-13-21. Unless we’re talking about a critical item, I just let reviews pile until any of those time slots.
That’s actually as fast as one can go

Hahahahah yess
Hi! I have made it to level 3! I spent 9 days and 21 hours on level 2. Pretty decent since I was out of town visiting friends for half of those days! So really proud I could still stay dedicated and beat the time it took me to go from Lvl 1 to 2 !
Can someone please update the chart for me?
There was a snafu where apparently someone had the table open for quite a long time and saved after a lot of changes had been made by other users, which undid all of them. These things happen, and it’ll probably happen again, tbh
Congratulations on your two levels! I’ve updated the chart. Great work!
@shiki, I’ve moved you up to the other level fives from where you were at the bottom of the chart (which is for level 1)
I think I’m gonna slow down and focus on leeches for this level.
After all I’m here to learn kanji, and not just to level up…
Finally started on radicals today after digging through the mountain of vocab.
Did more lessons than I planned to do originally, but I wanted to catch up again.
So here I am, 7 days until leveling up, I guess
hey
I cant update it myself rn but could you add me to the list too please?
havent used wk community at all yet so im kind of a newbie here
im lvl 10 rn and the last level took me a shameful 21 days
thanks
On the other hand, the faster you level up, the more kanji you learn
But it is good take it easy once in a while. When I joined this race I was just finishing up a 2 month level…
I’m not kitsunensei but I’ve added you to the table. Welcome to the race and to the community!
Leveled up just now. I, for one, welcome death.
Pace was a bit slower, like expected, but that’s alright. Just keep working on it every day.
Getting around 80 or so lessons at level-up never gets easier…
Hey
Could someone add me to the list please?
I started WK in 2017 but I haven´t been active for almost two years…
Level 10 took me 537 days and 21 hours but I just reached level 11.
I´m totally hyped to be learning again and can´t wait to reach Level 50 (probably won´t reach level 60 :/) by december 2020!
Ok nevermind… I just became “Member” for writing this comment xD
Haha, nice! Good to have you in this thread. Do you remember a lot of what you learned in the pleasant levels?
Yes but I don´t know if you can call it “remembering” …
originally I was level 16 but I reset my account to level 10 in juni or july because I noticed that I can´t remember a lot from level 10 or above (and I had a review pile of 1200+ which I tried to clear, but I gave up when I had 600 reviews left after doing at least 2,5 hours a day for a couple of days)…
A- understandable. How has the redt of your Japanese studies gone? Those get paused, too? Also:
Are you Dutch?
I think that’s a pretty good idea! I’m pausing and doing the same thing so that I don’t get overwhelmed with the next five levels.
Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here!
There’s no shame in taking a while to complete a level! All that matters is that you did complete it and you’re still working on learning kanji. Great work!
Welcome to the “race”! Welcome back to WK! Looking forward to working with you!
