The insurance company Geico uses an animated gecko in its advertising. Though I’m not sure why it’s used here, because the reading isn’t anything like gecko or geico?
It’s not being used for the reading, just for the meaning. But yeah, it’s a US cultural reference that probably should be replaced with something a but more universal. Though I’ve at least heard of the Geico gecko, so that’s something, I guess.
