Finished the writing task today, added it to my home post and I still have plenty of time to do the workbook. Also I joined the Listen Everyday Challenge (although I’m a day late)
勉強すれば勉強するほど、忘れる。
Today I forgot てもいい, a grammar point taught in Genki 1

I think
2023-10-10T17:00:00Z→2023-10-10T20:00:00Z
2023-10-11T17:00:00Z→2023-10-11T20:00:00Z
suits me great again
We’ll just need to make sure we let the discord people know, it still amazes me we managed to hook in some students there who aren’t even members of here!
I can’t Tuesdays, but same time for me on Wednesday would be perfect :x but if it’s just me no worries. Yes for sure will post in the discord too!
Both days suit me, so Wednesday for me too then!
That’s 2am-5am Tokyo time so this sleepy gal wouldn’t be able to make that time haha ~ is anyone else in the group based in Japan? If not, then it’s best to go with the majority and no worries!
I’m slightly more prepared for this chapter’s speaking.
I’ve even written some examples for the first part of the first exercise!
I think like last month, we’ll aim to get through the first section?
Yes let’s start as with last time with reading! I feel like I’m very weak at speaking so I don’t know if I can do more than reading the text, but I’ve seen that Eno will be there, I think I remember that she could more than me so hopefully you guys can have fun with the role playing and actually have a conversation
Let me know a time that works for you and I can set up an event in the Discord? Maybe that will work out for someone else, thinking also of our US friends
Oh no, I can only read and even then I struggle!
But writing and reading your own sentences is the first step to live production
Wow. This study thread even has ToKini Andy videos.
That guy and his team do amazing work. Entertaining, light-hearted and very helpful.
I think that alone is motivation to join this group.
I need to get more consistent about using the textbook cause I bought it.
Hehe yeah that’s the whole point of this group
Welcome!!
@Akashelia thanks for the offer! By next chapter’s speaking section I’ll make more of an effort to schedule times!! >.<
If anyone is interested in more reading practice, I made another comic like last chapter! It’s quite big so this time I’ve just posted it on my study log; you can check it out here if you’d like!
I didn’t highlight the chapter’s grammar points this time hehe so try and see if u can spot them!
Week 8
Listening practice!
Final week for chapter 2
This week’s assignments are: (nothing in the Workbook)
- 聴解1
- 聴解2
Have fun!
And the transcripts are pages 243 - 244 of the main book
WHAT A MESS hahahaha
I didn’t really understand the instructions so for Chokai.L2.1, I put two anwers not one (a and d) oops haha.
Then for Chokai.L2.2, I put . So, 2/5 correct and 2/6 correct overall. A MESS.
I was confused here too. Originally I said Sendai/Fukuoka, then switched to Nagoya. My original thinking was: Sara says she wants to go to Sendai or Fukuoka, then Miki asks what date she wants to go and Sara says 3/28-3/30, then Miki responds with “in that case, go here” and the only place in bloom during that period is Nagoya.
I was confused about the answer (why Fukuoka but not Sendai?) until I remebered an important detail: the map shows when flowers start blooming, then it takes about a week for them to open fully. The flowers start blooming in Fukuoka on 3/22, then they’ll be in full bloom by 3/29. Everywhere else would be too late.
And the second listening was absolutley boring painful. Thank god it’s over and we’re moving on.
