Well, I started a year’s subscription to WK late last January. I meant to follow it up with another year’s subscription, but….I have been unemployed since early December, and I don’t see myself being able to afford spending any more money on Japanese resources anytime soon.
So, preparing for my subscription to run out, but be renewed at some point, is it worth enabling vacation mode? And, how much of my progress will be visible once the subscription runs out?
If your subscription runs out, it’s the same as activating vacation mode for all items after level 3. You can still do reviews for items up to level 3 and I browse the site normally (e.g see what items there are etc.). You just won’t get reviews for anything beyond level 3.
I second what @simias and @downtimes have said.
Also, I really hope that you’d be able to find a good job soon!
In the meantime, as you are already level 26, assuming you have been studying grammar as well, you should be able to start reading by now, if you haven’t done so yet.
So, let me share some free reading resources:
Anyway, best of luck with your studies and with your jobhunting!
I would stop doing lessons but keep doing reviews on the ones you’ve already done. The goal being to clear out apprentice and guru of any items and push everything to master+. That way when you come back, you’ve done enough on them already to stand a chance of remembering. Any recent apprentice or guru items, you’re probably not and they’re just going to be a nuisance causing you failures when you need to “get back on the horse” later.
@downtimes and @ctmf, good to know. I was trying to finish level 25 in the next week, but, if retention won;’t stick, might switch to reading. I might be trying out Kamesame.
@trunklayer, thanks for those! I have been telling myself I should get to reading for a while now, but between the job hunt and parenting small kids, continuing WK seemed easier.
